WORKSHOPS + EVENTS

New workshops and reading events are listed in the Diary - starting in Spring, with more coming through the year. Including National Library of Scotland, Soutar Festival of Words, and the Centre for Energy Ethics.

FOTOGENIA FESTIVAL

Velella velella is part of the official selection for Fotogenia International Festival of Filmpoetry 2022, in Mexico City. The film of RS's poem, made by Steve Smart, with score by Alex South: more information here.

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE, CENTRE FOR ENERGY ETHICS

RS is the inaugural Artist in Residence with the Centre for Energy Ethics (University of St Andrews). For 18 months, supported by Creative Scotland and the CEE, RS will be working on a full-length poetry collection, for publication with Tapsalteerie in 2024. Including online and in-person events. More information and updates about the residency can be found here

ROAD & RAIL

Newly available through Souterrain Press (RS's micro press for niche and limited edition releases) - a 1-act micro play, with illustrations by Scottish artist John Johnstone. “Rebecca Sharp’s miniature elegy channels the melancholy spirit of Ivor Cutler to navigate its way through the ups and downs of family matters, and the hand-me-down rituals that mark them. A funny, tender and ultimately triumphal rollercoaster of everyday purging, Road & Rail is anything but pedestrian.” – Neil Cooper, Writer and Critic, Edinburgh, May 2022

NUSQOOL RESIDENCY

In 2022, RS was invited to participate in The Nusqool Kindepay Artists Residency - a virtual (for now) interdisciplinary collective of artists, thinkers and practitioners exploring creative ways to make kindness visible for times of deep ecological, economic and social change. Nusqool is a centre for creative expression and healing based in a converted school house in rural Ontario. Kindepay is a tool and a movement, presenting acts of kindness as currency (RS is a Kindepay merchant).
